The term “right to be forgotten” explains the right an individual has to require that all data held about them be permanently deleted by a data controller when it is no longer required. Privacy by design explains an approach that is taken to promote privacy and data protection from the beginning of a project through to completion. Taking such an approach has always been suggested, however, the GDPR makes it a legal requirement.
Right to Data Portability
The above term is self-explanatory in that it simply describes an individual’s right to obtain their personal data and reuse this across services they wish to.
Data Protection Officers
A data protection officer is the first port of call for all matters relating to data privacy. A DPO is responsible for compliance and training and can only be appointed by public authorities, organisations that carry out large scale processing of specific categories of data, or organisations carrying out widespread and systematic monitoring of individuals.
